Think you’ve got what it takes to help organise a gig and help raise money for the Oxfam charity? If the answer is a resounding ‘yes’, then why not become an Oxfam gig maker and get involved in this years Oxjam 2013, which is set to be the biggest and best year for events ever.
Oxjam takes place every year throughout the month of October, and is the nation’s local music festival. It’s a huge month for live gigs, DJ sets, and everything musical in-between, as people like yourselves organise a whole month’s worth of gigs to help raise money for the Oxfam charity.
Oxfam are currently looking for new recruits to get their hands dirty and take the bull by the horns. It’s a great experience to get involved with, looks great on the CV, and is a lot of fun. If you love music, then organising an Oxjam event could be one of the most exciting things you will get involved with this year.
Norman Cook, aka Fatboy Slim, said –
All you need to make an Oxjam event happen is a set of decks, a few choice tunes and a place to play them, so there’s no excuse not to get involved.
All Oxjam events are organised by volunteers to help raise money to fight poverty around the world. Last year’s event was an amazing success, which included artists such as –
- Graham Coxon
- Hot Chip
- Fourtet
- Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs
though I’m pretty sure you won’t need to have acts of this stature at your event! Simply click on the link below to find out more about how you can get involved in what is sure to be an amazing year for Oxjam. Oxfam will be able to help you from start to finish, and even offer a gig maker pack to offer you the support you may need in planning your gig.
